Returning home to San Francisco after World War II, Paul Sutton reunites with his wife Betty, whom he met and married just days before leaving for war. Paul and Betty’s relationship is strained as they barely know each other and don’t see eyes to eye. Returning to work as a traveling chocolate salesman, Paul meets Victoria, a pregnant woman returning to her families vineyard in the Napa valley. Victoria is scared of returning home without a husband and fears how her father, Alberto will react. Paul and Victoria decide to return together posing as husband and wife, with plans to leave the following morning seemingly ending the relationship suddenly. However Paul continues to get roped in to work in the vineyard and at the same time develops feelings for Victoria, as does she. What will they do? return to their lives, or follow their hearts.
