Two brothers separated by life choices are reunited when Billy Maloney is released from prison and returns home to his mother and brother Joe. Billy is mixed in with the wrong crowd, involved in drugs, shoplifting and getting into fights at school, while Joe is a stand up student with top grades and a hardworking runner. Joe inspires Billy to give up the rebel life and join him running, it doesn’t take long before Billy becomes a top notch runner, he even makes it into his school team, while Joe is aiming for a scholarship through winning an upcoming race. When it becomes clear that Billy could be the better runner and will be racing Joe in the finals, Joe retreats into alcohol and denial at the thought of loosing to Billy, so what will happen.
