At the beginning of the 1st centaury a rich Jewish prince and merchant known as Judah Ben-Hur lives in Jerusalem.Reunitingwith his old friend and new governor of the Roman legions Messala, Judah and his friend are happy to be together again but this soon changes as their different political views lead them down separate paths. During a parade Judah accidentally knocks some roof tiles from his house that almost injure the governor, Messala knows this was an accident but he sends Judah away to the galleys and throws his mother and sister into prison to teach him a lesson. Judah swears he will be back to free his family and take revenge on Messala, and we follow his journey over the seas and through treacherous chariot races to see justice be brought to his old friend.
