Based on the true story of James ‘Whitey’ Bulger, a big time American gangster from the streets of South Boston. During the 1970’s when Whitey’s gang was on the rise, old childhood friend John Connolly, who is now an FBI agent, tries to make a deal with Whitey and to bring him in as a secret informer. With Whitey giving the FBI information on other gangs, a blind eye is turned to his Irish mob who are soon becoming the largest and deadliest group in Boston, though now John is becoming to involved and is putting his job and life on the line to protect Whitey. Dirty deals, drug dealing, missing people and racketeering indictments cause the deal to spiral out of control until finally Whitey makes the FBI’s top ten most wanted list.
