The true story of Robin and Diana Cavendish, a young and bright British couple who after returning from Kenya in 1958, have their lives forever changed. Given only 3 months to live, Robin suffers severe depression as he comes to terms with being stuck in a bed for the rest of his life, unable to see his wife and young son Jonathan grow up the way he had hoped. Unwilling to let her husband wish for death, Diana pushes against the doctors wishes for Robin to be moved home, however her determination not only brings him home but also allows for new ideas such as the first ever wheelchair with a respirator attachment, allowing Robin to have as full a life as possible.
