Christine

In 1978, Rockbridge California, Nerdy high-schooler Arnie Cunningham and his jock friend Dennis are living the typical high school experience, though Arnie is being bullied quite intensely and his parents are extremely strict on him. After school one day Arnie sees an old dilapidated 1958 Plymouth Fury for sale, Dennis warns him that it is a bomb but Arnie sees the potential. After he buys it, Arnie begins to restore the car, known as Christine, at a local garage, yet the more time he spends with the car the more it begins to effect him. Arnie develops a new ‘tough guy’ attitude and appearance, starts dating Leigh, the new girl, and becomes increasingly hostile and protective of Christine. One night after the school bullies break in and destroy Christine, Arnie snaps and is out for revenge. With Christine quickly restored again, the duo become one and begin taking out the garbage.
