Based on the true story of the 1967 Detroit riots when during the cities chaos and destruction, the Algiers Motel incident took place. When gun shots are heard from the area near the Algiers Motel a handful of state police arrive and violently interrogate a group of seven black men and two white women inside the hotel for hours on end. In order to find the gun police officers Krauss, Flynn and Demens go to extremes when they brutally beat, threaten and even kill civilians inside the hotel. Left with a system that has failed them, these black men are beyond their limits but unable to stand up for the truth as they will be beaten down, killed or wrongfully imprisoned if they oppose the racist society in front of them.
