After his company looses close to one billion dollars because of his shoe designs, Drew Baylor is close to committing suicide, that is until he receives the news of his father death. Drew must head to Elizabethtown where his father was living but along the way he meets airline attendant Claire Colburn who seems to be hanging around quite a bit. Claire’s view on life influences Drew and he becomes a happier and better person through being with Claire, the two regularly meet up while in Elizabethtown but Drew must also juggle his fathers funeral arrangements and deal with how he will be buried or cremated.
