Empire of the Sun

During World War II while under Japanese occupation a young boy Jim Graham is separated from his parents and must find a life of his own. Traveling across Shanghai he is eventually captured and taken to the Soo Chow confinement camp. While at the camp Jim makes many friends and keeps himself busy looking after the sick and weak giving the people hope for the future after the war is over. By the time the war is behind him the rich life Jim once lived hadleft him and all traces of the young boy he once was are now replaced by the man he becomes.
