While recovering form a leg injury in Jerusalem, American World War II pilot David meets and falls in love with a Jewish girl called Sarah. Brought up Protestant David’s background is completely different from Sarah’s Jewish upbringing and her family does not approve of their love at all. Everything but the war seems to be pulling the couple apart but David is persistent and continues to peruse Sarah against the odds. Eventually David has to leave due to the war but will Sarah be there for him or will the decision between her love or her family be too much.
