On Christmas eve in a New York bookstore, engineer Frank Raftis and artist Molly Gilmore cross paths, they later see each other on the same train home, and begin continually running into each other. The two start to talk and eventually go out on coffee and lunch dates, though the fact that they are both married begins to weigh heavily on both their consciences. Before the connection can be broken, Frank and Molly realize they have fallen in love, soon it becomes evident in their home-lives that something is wrong. Even with the realization that he could loose his wife and kids, Frank pursues Molly when it becomes clear he cant live without her and likewise for Molly.
