Description:
In the lead up to the 1992 Rodney King riots in Las Angeles, we focus on a large foster family, Millie Dunbar is a single mother with eight adopted children. As the violence against the black community by police officers escalates, Millie’s older children, Jesse and William are directly affected and involved. Millie’s neighbor Obie Hardison is the only white man in the neighborhood, he’s an alcoholic who at first cant stand Millie’s rowdy family but once the riots begin they have no option but to trust and help one another, especially when the younger kids go missing. Threatened by police, Millie and Obie find themselves in a difficult position, while Jesse and William are facing tragic circumstances due to the violence.
