San Fernando Valley in the early 70’s, 15-year-old Gary Valentine meets 25-year-old Alana Kane while preparing for his high school photo day, he immediately falls for her and asks her out. Alana feels weird about hanging out with a 15 year old but also feels a close bond and friendship forming. Gary is a young actor and businessman, and his new idea is going to launch him to fame. Gary, Alana and his school friends invest in the new thing ‘waterbeds’ and open their own store, though meanwhile Gary and Alana’s relationship is on-and-off as the ups and downs of young life takes them on separate paths occasionally. Run ins with actors, politicians, film producers and directors all the while knowing deep down that the odd couple will always end up together.
