Once famous Baseball player now turned General Manager Billy Beane manages the Oakland A’s but is handicapped with the lowest salary constraint out of all the U.S teams making it hard to get pro players. Billy discovers a young statistics analystcalled Peter Brand who helps him to find a competitive advantage through using overlooked players with skill sets that other teams may have missed. The players chosen all have disadvantages as well including age and fitness levels that exceed regular tradition, but Billy and Peter are trusting in their stats that their team will pull through. Billy is facing demons of his own as his Baseball past history is always in the forefront of his mind, but past failures will slow the team down and Billy cant afford to loose again.
