Orphan

Kate and John Coleman are recovering from the past few years of their troubled marriage, Kate was an alcoholic and she also lost a child at birth. Together with their two children Daniel and Max the family adopt a young Russian girl, 9-year-old Esther who at first seems life the perfect child, their son Daniel is hostile towards her, though their deaf daughter Max has taken to her like a best friend. Not long after Esther begins to reveal her true self, she has become a manipulative and scheming liar who uses Max as a way to cover up by threatening her. Kate starts to see what’s happening but John doesn’t believe her and just thinks she has begun to drink again, though what Kate eventually digs up from Esther’s past will put the whole family at risk of death.
