Pan’s Labyrinth

During war time 1944 in Spain young Ofelia and her pregnant mother Carmen move to live with her new step-father Vidal, a ruthless army captain with no tolerance for mistakes or secrets. Fascinated with fairy-tales Ofelia discovers an old ruin outside the house, at night a fairy appears to her and leads he back to the old labyrinth, she meets a faun living in the ruins. The faun believes Ofelia is a princess and gives her three horrifying tasks to prove she is royalty, if she fails she will never see the other side or live forever but how can she complete her tasks in her new environment with her sick mother and step-father waiting for her to slip up.
