Picnic at Hanging Rock

On Valentines Day 1900, a group of school girls in Victoria go on an excursion to picnic at Hanging Rock. Soon after three girls and a teacher disappear while exploring the rock, the students and teachers left behind go into a panic as the others seem to have vanished without a trace. A few local boys who were there on the day of the disappearance return to search for the girls as do a handful of locals and police officers. Days and weeks pass with still no answers as to what happened on the rock, and the girls school led by Mrs Appleyard is uneasy as parents are seeking to take their daughters out of the prestigious school. More so than anything what is most disturbing is the lack of evidence or leads on the missing girls who have dropped from the face of the earth.
