In Philadelphia Rocky Balboa is a small time boxer trying to make it to the big time, he works as a debt collector for little money. Rocky falls in love with and marries Adrian who loves him but hates that he wants to become a professional fighter. When heavyweight champion Apollo Creed visits Philadelphia an exhibition match is set up for a struggling boxer to go from being a nobody to a somebody. The match was supposed to be an easy win for Apollo but he didn’t expect Rocky. Being trained by his long time friend and gym owner Mickey, Rocky stands more of a chance than anybody at becoming the next heavyweight champion.
