The Birdcage

Armand Goldman and his lover Albert are gay and they own a popular nightclub in South Beach Miami called The Birdcage. “Their” son Val (actually Armand’s by his one heterosexual fling, twenty years before) comes to visit with the news that he is getting married to Barbara Keely, daughter of Kevin Keely, US Senator, and vice president of the Committee for Moral Order. Val forces his gay parents to tidy the place up and make it look straight before the family arrives for dinner the following night in order to make a good impression. Things don’t go according to plan as Albert is going to have to play the mother and Armandthe straight father, and what ensues is comic chaos.
