The Boy and the Beast

9-year-old orphaned boy Ren lives alone on the streets of Shibuya when he meets the mysterious beast Kumatetsu who offers him the opportunity to be his apprentice in the world of beasts. Ren follows the beast through a side-street path and discovers a new world, and he is given the name Kyuta. Kumatetsu is a gruff and hot-headed warrior training to fight a worthy opponent to take the place of the old God of the beasts but his sloppiness and attitude will loose him the fight, unless Kyuta can help. Being just what he needs Kyuta and Kumatetsu train together and over the years to prepare for the big fight, but there are consequences for humans who live in the beast world that could find Kyuta endangering not only himself but both the human and beast worlds.
