The Dressmaker

Returning to the small town of Dungatar in rural Australia in 1951 is Tilly Dunnage, A girl who grew up there and was sent away after being blamed for the murder of a schoolboy when she was young. Now she’s back to write the wrongs of her past and take revenge on those who did her wrong, armed with a sewing machine Tilly makes her presence known to the local townspeople by showing off her miraculous dressmaking skills. Tilly is also trying to reconnect with her mother, known to the town as Mad Molly, who has problems remembering the past, also local boy Teddy McSwiney hopes to recover somewhat of a relationship with Tilly. With the townspeople outraged by Tilly’s return anything could happen in this tale of love, revenge and haute couture.
