Description:
While at bible college in Minnesota, Tammy Faye and Jim Bakker meet and fall in love after witnessing each others enthusiasm for Christ and saving non believers. They soon marry and begin to work their way up the evangelism ladder while preaching to children with puppets on the TV. Jim then steps out and creates his own television network, The PLT Club, hosted by Jim and Tammy, and the money begins flowing in. Throughout the 70’s and 80’s the couple create an empire through televangelism, though the cracks are starting to show, not only is their marriage falling apart due to infidelity on both sides, but financial debt, scandals and fraud reach the public view and ultimately bring the empire crashing down. After Jim is imprisoned, Tammy spends her later years trying to revive her career through concerts and television gigs.
