Based on a true story, Amy is a compassionate night-shift nurse in a difficult position, she has a heart condition that could kill her at any moment, though she has to be in her job for 12 months before she can get healthcare. Living as a single mother with two daughters Amy is struggling, however when Charlie Cullen arrives as a new nurse in the ICU, Amy befriends him and the two become close as he encourages her to stick it out a few more months. When a patient mysteriously dies on the ward, the hospital seems to cover things up when the death becomes suspicious, however the police contact Amy and together they discover that Charlie could have had a hand in the death. Soon more patients die suspiciously and evidence comes out that could put Charlie away forever, however Amy could loose her job, healthcare and life if things go south.
