Description:
In the 1870’s Captain Nathan Algren, a drunken war veteran of the American Civil war is hired by the Emperor of Japan to train peasants to fight the remaining Samuraiwho are the only thing standing in the way of Japan Westernizing its policies. Nathan is captured by the Samurai but they do not harm him, instead he is brought to their village and sobered up. Eventually Nathan sees the way of the Samurai as a sacred thing that must be protected and so he begins training under their leader Katsumoto to become what he was sent to destroy. The Samurai are outnumbered by the opposition but they stand up to fight and die for their way of life to be protected.
