When the presumed murder of an Aboriginal man in Sydney occurs, lawyer David Burton takes the case to defend the five aboriginal suspects. At what first seemed like a drunken attack soon opens up and David discovers it was part of a tribal ritualized taboo murder, at the same time he is having premonitions of heavy storms and floods. When David becomes close with one of the suspects, Chris Lee, he finds that he may have more to do with their history and rituals through his premonitions and dream time visions. When fellow lawyers try to sway David towards a simple murder verdict he takes the hard road to try and put the event under traditional aboriginal laws that cover their tribes actions, though his delving deeper into it will have a weight put on Davids shoulders that will change his life forever.
