The Master

After returning home from World War II, Navy serviceman Freddie Quell is finding it hard to hold a job and deal with his deep issues that cause his series of breakdowns. Finally while drunk Freddie stumbles onto a boat filled with people who are part of a new cult known as The Cause, Freddie meets their charismatic Master Lancaster Dodd and goes through a series of tests to see weather he can join them. Freddie and Master become good friends and he finally feels like he has found his place in life, The Cause engages Freddie in exercises to clear emotions and help make him a better human. Freddie’s loyalty will be tested the more he become involved with the cult to a point where he must choose which path to follow for the rest of his life.
