The Mission

In the 18th century Spanish Jesuit Father Gabriel has formed a mission in the South American wildernesshoping to convert the Indians toChristianity. All is going well and with the help ofRodrigoMendoza who was a slave hunter but has also converted, the tribes are growing in their beliefs. Soon after, Spain sells the area to Portugal meaning that the locals must move out or fight, they decide to stay and defend all they have built against the Portuguese aggressors. With little chance of survival Rodrigo andFieldinghelp the Indians fight while Gabriel stays with the women and children singing songs of praise to God to show that they will not be shaken.
