The Rain People

Housewife Natalie recently found out she is pregnant, and leaves her husband early one morning looking for freedom to reevaluate her life and future. Uncertain of weather she wants to be a mother or even wife, Natalie heads west and picks up hitchhiker Kilgannon, a ex-football player with brain-damage. Struggling to make sense of her own life Kilgannon is like a child and Natalie must decide weather or not to look out for him. Police officer Gordon soon takes an interest in Natalie after catching her speeding, though Natalie soon realizes the emptiness and loneliness in each person she comes across, hopefully giving herself a new and positive perspective on her own husband and future child.
