The Red Turtle

A man is shipwrecked on a tropical desert island, surrounded by ocean and not a living soul in sight the man must survive and figure out his escape. He makes a few attempts to sail off on his bamboo rafts but each timethey are destroyed by a large red turtle. After confronting the turtle it transforms into a red-haired woman and the two are intrigued by one another. Over the years the man and woman have a child, a young boy, and they couldn’t be happier, they have not tried to escape because they now have what they need on the island. Growing into old age and facing many difficulties like a monsoon and their adult son yearning for a life of his own the couple cling to each other until their final days.
