The Shape of Water

Set against the backdrop of the cold war in the early 60’s a new and dangerous asset has been delivered to a top secret government laboratory for testing. Elisa is a mute janitor who works at the lab where this creature is being tested on and cruelly tortured by its captor Richard Strickland. Elisa develops an uncommon relationship with the amphibious creature as it doesn’t see her as incomplete because of her not being able to speak, eventually she decides to rescue him from captivity before he is killed to set him free. With the help of her neighbour Giles and her work friend Zelda, Elisa keeps the creature safe in her apartment until the rains come but Strickland and others are desperately trying to recover the creature before they loose their jobs or worse.
