The Taking of Pelham 123

On a normal day in New York, regular citizens lives are put under threat of a terrorism when a hostage situation develops in the Subway system at 77th Street. The Pelham 123 train is hijacked by a group led by the mysterious ‘Ryder’ who is demanding $10 million in cash within the hour and every minute past the deadline a hostage will be killed. MTA employee Walter Garber, happens to be working the Rail Control Center as a train dispatcher on this day when he receives the call from Ryder, who is shouting demands. Even when the hostage negotiator arrives, Ryder refuses to talk to anyone but Walter, forcing him to confront the situation head on as well as his own failings and secrets. Things escalate when the deadline arrives and Ryder forces Walter to become physically involved with the heist, but now with the entire New York Police Department sweeping the city, a getaway seems impossible.
