In the early 90’s, eccentric and tortured musical theater writer, Jonathan Larson, is approaching his 30th birthday and feels he has nothing to show besides a half produced passion project called Superbia. Working at the Moondance Diner in New York City, Jonathan spends his days writing jingles and trying to get his musical off the ground and onto Broadway, his friend Michael gave up his acting dreams to pursue an advertising career and his girlfriend Susan was a former dancer now entering a teaching job. Feeling alone and frustrated about an unfinished song that the entire show hinges on, Jonathan locks himself away in order to complete the project and have it ready for the workshop, however even if the critics love it, will it be his big break?
