The Wilson family take a vacation to Santa Cruz, California to meet some friends and relax in their holiday house. Adelaide (the mother) becomes increasingly worried about staying there and especially going to the beach. While at the beach their young son Jason wonders off and causes Adelaide to go into a panic, later that night a family appear in their driveway who look exactly the same as them. The doppelgangers break into the house and terrorize the family making them wonder what is going on and what these intruders are here for.
