In the dreary countryside of Ireland two star-crossed lovers live in farms opposite one another, Rosemary Muldoon has loved Anthony Reilly her whole life, though he is painfully shy and unable to convey his emotions. Soon Rosemary’s mother passes away and Anthony’s father Tony is struggling weather to leave the farm to his son or his American nephew Adam who arrives for Tony’s 75th birthday. Time after time Anthony avoids Rosemary and denies her affections for him, after Tony’s passing Anthony realizes his position and what he must do before Adam or someone else swoops in, though even after knowing, Rosemary must put herself out there once more in hopes that Anthony will finally tell her how he feels.
