August Pullman is about to start 5th grade, up until now he has been home schooled, mostly because he was born with facial deformities and his parents Isabel and Nate believe he would have been teased going to a regular school. But now they finally have to let Auggie go. At first it takes a while for classmates and other students to accept Auggie, he goes through the teasing and bullying that his parents expected but it doesn’t break him. Auggie is persistent and eventually makes real friends, over the school year Auggie’s journey causes the community to accept and be compassionate towards him and by the end of the year he has some real true friends.
